The Adidas Gazelle Indoor was originally released in the early 1980s as a performance-oriented handball trainer, which quickly caught the attention of various subcultures. In the 1980s, the Gazelle became associated with the American B-boy culture, as well as the Casuals style groups in the UK, which allowed it to become one of the most popular adidas trainers of that time. After nearly 20 years in the adidas archives, the Gazelle Indoor was re-released in 2011.
